Creative writing inspired by nature
What does it mean to be creative? This past weekend, The Wild Way held a Nature-Based Creative Writing Workshop to explore the intersection between imagination, memory, and the outdoors.
Local author Cyndy Unwin helped the girls brainstorm simple poems, which they then refined into an original work or transformed into memoir. Their creations are genuinely breathtaking.
Poetry is unique in that it has no rules; its boundlessness makes most adults uncomfortable, but it’s also the very reason that so many children embrace it. It was empowering for the girls (and the adults) to let our creativity flow freely in a relaxed environment, free from rules and restrictions.
Stay tuned for next steps for these works of art!
