Do you like stand-up paddleboarding? Do you like….bugs?
That’s okay, you don’t have to like (or touch) bugs to participate in this event. Join us for a relaxed day SUPing on the Roanoke River at Green Hill Park while we learn about the macroinvertebrates that live in our local waterways. Did you know that the type of bugs that live in the water can tell us how clean it is? We’ll check out what’s living in our rivers while also monitoring the Roanoke River’s stream quality for the Virginia “Save Our Streams” program.
Neither paddling experience nor a love for bugs is required for this event. This event is open to girls ages 9 to 14.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation is provided to this event. We will meet at Wasena Park at 9am and return by 3:30pm.
